Background

Scope and Content:

This collection contains records created by the committees, including correspondence and memos from within the University, founding documents of the committees, as well as the reports they published summarizing their findings. The reports include proposed tactics to increase admission, improved quality of life on campus, and faculty treatment.

Biographical / Historical:

The Task Force for Long Range Planning was created as a group to evaluate the inner workings of the University and create plans to improve administration of various apsects of the University. It was created to plan long range improvements set to be in place by the mid 1980s. They covered proposed changes for various aspects of the University including admissions, effectiveness by program, faculty treatment, and the quality of life on campus.

Acquisition information:

All items in this collection were transferred to the University Libraries, M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives by the Office of the President.
