Background

Scope and Content:

This bulk of this collection consists of flyers, posters, and programs for various concerts put on by the Music Department. There is also a small quantity of administrative records, including annual reports and correspondence, as well as two garments: a sport coat and a pair of pants from a band uniform. The collection also contains three scrapbooks with photographs, news clippings, flyers, and other materials from the Music Department and the Music Council.

Biographical / Historical:

The Department of Music originated in the State Normal College circa 1908. As of 2017, the music and theatre programs are combined under the Department of Music and Theatre.

Acquisition information:

All items in this collection were transferred to the University Libraries, M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives.
