This series consists of unpublished notes and opinions, photographs, and other documents Oppler created or collected while working as head of the Political and Legal Section of the Far Eastern Command. Of note is an autographed photograph of General Lyman L. Lemnitzer.

Included in this series are two works published posthumously, Weimar Études and Socialism in History, as well as a second planned essay volume, History and Myth, edited by Stephen Eric Bronner, which remains unpublished. Also included in this series are typescripts and proofs of the translation by Hedwig Pachter of Hermann Vinke's The Short Life of Sophie Scholl.
