Digitization Requests
We charge for the amount of time required to digitize the requested material.
- Requests taking less than 30 minutes are free of charge.
- Requests may take up to two weeks, depending on the volume and complexity of the material.
- Due to limited staff, we have a two-hour limit to what we are able to digitize.
- Anyone is welcome to visit and view collections in-person during our hours at no charge.
Using the Archives ▼
The archives are open to the public, but most collections can only be viewed in person in our Reading Room at the UAlbany Science Library. While we digitize select materials for broader access, digitizing everything would limit the records we are able to preserve.
- Focus your topic: Explore our Collections first to find what you would like to see.
- Ask for help: We can help guide you to what you're looking for.
- Plan your visit: Check our Hours & Directions to campus.
- Restrictions: Some materials are limited due to privacy, donor or legal agreements, or the fragile nature of the item.
- Rules: Handle materials with care; no food, drink, or bags in the Reading Room.
