John Dough and The Cherub

John Dough and The Cherub was originally published by Reilly & Britton, 1906. This is a 1974, Dover reprint of the story written by L. Frank Baum and illustrated by John R. Neill. John Dough is a gingerbread man whose dough has been accidentally spiked with "The Elixir of Life." He travels with an androgynous looking child, Chick The Cherub. They have many great adventures and in the end, John Dough is crowned "King Dough-Ruler of Hiland and Loland." He is not eaten.
