Accessibility Statement

The archival materials made available on this site are provided for reference, research, and recordkeeping purposes. We are committed to making these materials as broadly accessible as possible.

The website that provides discovery and access to these materials has been designed to meet WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.

The archival materials themselves include digitized historical content and born‑digital materials. Many of these materials were not originally created in accessible formats. In accordance with applicable accessibility guidance and exemptions for archival content, materials are made available primarily in their original or near‑original form.

When feasible, we provide alternative representations of archival materials, including text transcriptions, OCR‑generated text, and structured HTML. These alternatives are made available alongside digital items through International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) Presentation manifests. Text representations are also displayed on each page following the item.

Due to the volume of materials we manage and limited staffing and resources, much of this text and structural information is generated through automated processes and may contain errors or omissions. We are continually evaluating and improving these processes as resources allow.

If you encounter difficulty accessing any materials on this website, require assistance, or would like to request a reasonable accommodation or remediation for a specific item, please contact us using our online form or via telephone at 518-437-3935 and we will make every reasonable effort to assist.

Questions regarding digital accessibility at the University at Albany, SUNY may also be directed to the Electronic & Information Accessibility Officer, Anne McGrath, at amcgrath3@albany.edu.
