Four treatises of physick and chirurgery : Viz. I.A physico-medical essay concerning alkaly and acid so far as they have relation to the cause or cure of distempers, wherein is endeavored to be proved, that acids are not (as is generally and erroneously supposed) the cause of all or most distempers, but that alkalies are ; together wth an acoount of some distempers, and the medicines, with their preparations, proper to be used in the cure of them ; as also, a short digression concerning specific remedies. II. Some farther considerations by way of appendix to a late essay wherein the terms are made clear and the natures of them both more fully explained together with an answer to the objections that have been raised against some things contained in the said essay. III. Novum lumen chirurgicum, or a new light of chirurgery, wherein is discovered a much more safe and speedy way of curing wounds, than hath heretofore been usually practised. IV. Novum lumen chirurgicum vindicatum, or the new light of chirurgery vindicated from many unjust aspersions, of some unknown calumniators with the addition of some few experiments made this winter, being 1694/5 in England
