The unveiling of the portrait of President Abram (also Abraham) Roy (also Royer) Brubacher (President of the New York State College for Teachers from February 1, 1915 until August 23, 1939) painted by Edward Buyck. President Evan R. Collins (President from July 1949 - June 30, 1969) is to the viewer's left and John Seiler Brubacher (Abram's son) is to the viewer's right. The Brubacher family presented the portrait to the university in July 1959.

The photograph was taken looking west to the University Library at ground level, showing the stairwell to the second floor of the library. This photograph came from the office of Edward Durell Stone who was the architect who designed the Uptown Campus. This photograph is fixed with a canvas back. On the back there are date stamps showing that the photograph went from the office of architect Edward Durell Stone to the New York State University Construction Fund.
