Kunstler was to have declared in his speech that "the movement" had progressed from protest to resistance. "The movement" was an amorphous configuration of disparate New Left, antiwar, black liberation, and similar counter-culture groups in the United States. The United States Flag is prominently displayed in the picture's background.
