Recently, more than 1,100 Lifespire workers formed a union with the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) through a card check/neutrality agreement. The workers are in the final stages of negotiations for a fair contract. The CSEA is New York State's largest union.

Under the Bush administration Americans saw the loss of 1.7 million jobs, erosion of health insurance coverage along with higher prices, gutting of workers safety and health protections and a National Labor Relations Board hell-bent on benefiting employers at the expense of workers.
