- Erie County Medical Center is known throughout Western New York State for its outstanding Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center and emergency care. The hospital is also a leader in cardiac care, kidney transplantation, and musculoskeletal treatment. Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) represents about 1,100 workers at the hospital, including many physicians. CSEA member Dr. Erik Jensen, clinical director of anesthesiology at the hospital, plays a critical role in caring for the hospitals trauma patients.
