- A picture of the 1000 steps of Sun Yat-sen's tomb or mausoleum, outside of Nanjing (Jiangsu Sheng), China. Dr. Sun Yat-sen led the Revolution of 1911, overthrew the over-2,000-year feudal imperial system in China, and established the bourgeois democratic republic. The mausoleum is his resting place. There are crop marks on all sides of the photograph. The photograph was taken during a trip to China by a delegation from the State University of New York at Albany seeking to establish relationships with Chinese institutions.
