Series 4 documents Dr. Blanchards professional activities from his time at the University of New York at Albany. While materials from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute are also included, they make up a smaller part of the series. The focus of the materials is on grant applications, meetings and Conferences, and classes Dr. Blanchard taught.

This series contains correspondence arranged alphabetically by topic and chronologically within each folder. An interesting group of van den Haag's earliest correspondence includes letters written to professors at Duke and Harvard Universities proposing an experiment on animals to prove his theory of deterrence as a learned behavior. Some of his correspondence involves his duties at Fordham University between 1981 and 1983. Much of van den Haag's correspondence was about his publications and therefore can be found within the publication folders in Series 2.
Service Files, 1988-1992 2.66 cubic ft.
The series illustrates ACUSNY's involvement in service projects between 1989 and 1992, which encourage community service activities by college students in New York State. It also documents the exchange of information about college service programs and the views of the higher education community on public policy issues related to student community service. Included are newsletters, newspaper articles, background information on various service and volunteer programs, documents on the campus compact, Dec.'88-March '90., and correspondence, especially to the governor's office for voluntary service and various student service program committees.
