This series consists of the general research and reference file of Leigh Bienen. This includes publications, reports, and legislation on subjects such as capital punishment, criminal law, rape, and prison reform.

This series contains topical files on van den Haag's research in such areas as law, crime, capital punishment, and employment.

The publications series contains publications written by members of the faculty under the imprint of the School of Criminal Justice, and studies published under the auspices of the School of Criminal Justice. This series consists of materials pertaining to exhibits of Graf and his work, and includes materials from the exhibits themselves, as well as notes and ideas by Gisela Graf in her efforts to assist with the exhibitions.

This series contains a number of materials that Virginians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty researched or used to further the organization's efforts to end capital punishment in Virginia. Topics consist of the juvenile death penalty, lethal injection, and national and international stances on the death penalty. Formats include clippings, journal articles, VHS tapes, banners, and a customized license plate.

This series contains typescripts of reviews written by Werner, many of which are duplicate reviews filed under specific artists and topics. The series also contains a selection of Werner's column "Views and Visions", which appeared in the monthly magazine Art Voices.

This series contains correspondence sent to William Kennedy from fellow authors, journalists, politicians, and members of the film industry. Most notably, the files document his relationships with other well-known writers of American literature, especially his decades-long friendships with mentor Saul Bellow and Hunter S. Thompson. Also included is correspondence with Philip Roth, Joyce Carol Oates, Frank McCourt, Doris Grumbach, John Updike, and more. Materials include letters, greeting cards, post cards, fax transmissions, e-mail and one Western Union mailgram. Nearly all of the other series also include correspondence related to the respective series.

This series contains correspondence as well as pamphlets and other materials distributed to alumni, predominantly for reunions and other key events. The earliest materials are from 19th Century jubilees and reunions of all classes on Alumni Day. Later alumni held reunions only for specific classes or campus organizations, such as the Potter Club or Pep Band, and this is reflected in the more targeted correspondence. Please see Series 1 and Series 3 for more materials related to Alumni Day, and Series 1 for communication to members of the Eastern Branch of the Alumni Association. The correspondence was retained with the group's meeting minutes and is therefore located in Administration.
