Memorabilia, 1966-1992 0.7 cubic ft.

The memorabilia series contains the miscellaneous items that Mrs. Whittlesey collected during her time as a member of the New York Republican State Committee and Republican National Committee, as the chair of the Volunteer's Tie Line and as the co-chair of Housewives for Rockefeller. These items include several political buttons for Rockefeller and other Republican candidates, buttons and identification tags from Mrs. Whittlesey's various political positions and various other Republican-related pins. In addition to the candidate buttons, this series also includes several tote bags from the Republican National Conventions and an apron from Housewives for Rockefeller. Finally, this series contains a group of miscellaneous exhibition catalogs and booklets from National Park sites.

The Subject Files contain records of Branch programs, committee work, news clippings and files on the careers of certain Branch members and officers. The Subject Files are organized alphabetically and span the entire period of 1949 through 1981 though the period of the 1970s is more heavily represented. The files include research on local housing conditions among Schenectady's black population in 1960. Local discrimination grievance cases are included.

Most of the correspondence in this series (with a few exceptions) is from the 1980s during the directorships of Joyce Steinkraus Giles and James H. Snedeker, Jr.. Most earlier materials were filed with the meeting minutes or with the subject files to which they pertain. Much of the included materials consist of letters sent by individual contributors (usually along with a donation) and letters and faxes between CACC and other local service organizations, clergy members and political leaders.

This series contains legislative reports, drafts, and lobbying efforts conducted on behalf of the NYSSCSW throughout its history. Much of the collection concerns the campaigns to establish the "P" and "R" laws as well as the society's efforts to establish a formal license for clinical social workers. Materials from the society's legislative efforts regarding mental health practitioners are also included.

This series consists of records created or maintained by the ESFWC financial secretary. Materials include annual convention forms (1960, 1962, 1964), annual convention registration lists (c.1964-1967) and an executive board meeting registration list (1966) showing fees paid, correspondence (1961, 1962-1967, 1969), and financial records pertaining to the Empire State Association of Girls (1962, 1964-1966). Ledgers (1948-1967) and financial reports (1965-1966, 1969-1972, 1978-1981) detailing receipts and disbursements and forms documenting constituent club members' payment of dues to the National Association of Colored Women's Clubs or, in a few instances, Northeast Federation of Women's Clubs (1961-1971) dominate the series. Other records include financial reports concerning the ESFWC's annual Miss Empire State Contest (1962, 1969) and member contributions to Negro Braille magazine (c. 1969) and to the Victoria Earle Matthews Scholarship Fund for African-American girls (c. 1969, 1972).

Correspondence, 1976-1990 0.66 cubic ft.

The bulk of this series is correspondence between Donald Blinken and the other members of the SUNY Board of Trustees, Chancellor Clifton Wharton Jr., presidents of different SUNY campuses, New York government officials, and parents of students. The main subjects of the correspondence include responses to news articles, appointments or reappointments made to the Board, or SUNY related institutions such as the creation of the Rockefeller Institute of Government, the proposal to award a degree in Arts Management in 1982, and materials from symposiums and meetings related to education and budget concerns. There are also news clippings and some information related to state-wide school systems outside of New York. There are some biographical sketches and resumes of Board members. Correspondence in 1979 includes debate about the site of the Utica/Rome campus. There are memos and correspondence related to lawsuits, though there are no details or legal papers in the series or collection.
