This series contains the correspondence of the SASU officers with SUNY administrators, state legislators, member schools, state and national student organizations, and student services providers. The correspondence with both state legislators and the SUNY administrators illustrates the growing respect given to SASU, as this student organization increased not only its size, but also, perhaps more important, its political sophistication. The correspondence with schools in the SUNY system documents SASU's struggle to gain the support of campuses throughout the state, the strategies used by SASU to publicize both its mission and its activities, and the continual budgetary constraints of both SASU and the member schools' student governments.

This series contains the files of properties owned by, under easement with, or of interest to the Schoharie Land Trust. Several files consist only of a contact checklist form, while the larger files may contain maps, photographs, deeds, easements, surveys, and correspondence. Several more complex files have been broken down into their component parts. Files are generally listed by the last name of their owner or donor or else by a more common property name such as "Schoharie Island." The Schoharie Creek property was purchased with funds from the Iroquois Gas Transmission Service's Land Preservation and Enhancement Program and more information can be found in the Grant Files series.

Protect Your Environment (PYE) was a club at the University at Albany, SUNY, that was an off-shoot of the Environmental Forum. The club was formed in 1969 based on an example from the Thomas School in Connecticut. The club promoted environmental awareness through activities such as teach-ins and Earth Day. In 1974, the club helped to convince Governor Malcolm Wilson to declare a week in April as Earth Week. A framed certificate of the declaration is in the series. This declaration, along with other material too large for standard archival boxes are in a separate flat box. A glass, pink pig head mounted to a wooden board is also part of the series, along with PYE handouts and flyers, the club's constitution, receipts, bills, and other material.

One of the functions of the Republican State Committee is to act as the provider of positive press on the various campaigns across the state. To achieve this, the NYRSC kept a file of photographs and biographical statements for the press. Although there is a picture of Henrietta Wells Livermore, founder of the Federal Women's Republican Club from 1919, the bulk of the collection is from the 1970s and 1980s. Most of the photographs are marked with the names of those pictured, but there are a few unidentified photos.
