These files contain material relevant to the specific campaigns for candidates either in New York State or national elections. While Series one is a collection of Melich's external research, this series contains information on campaign initiatives Melich was personally involved with. There are publications, campaign brochures (for either Republican or Democratic candidates), form letters, notes, correspondence, and reports within this series, many written by or for Melich. Some of the files include position papers, outlining a number of topics of importance to the election and a summary of the candidates' position.

This series contains exhibits presented at DEC hearings from 1979-80. Included in this series are letters, surveys, reports, photographs, maps, and resumes of expert witnesses. The first folder contains a list of all exhibits.

Seven folders from the files of CD-CAAR's secretary, Eileen Kawola. The subject files include press clippings, correspondence, information about the CD-CAAR Committee on Police and Racial Violence (1987-1989), the diary kept by Eileen Kawola on her 1992 trip to southern Africa which includes four photographs, and a brief history of Namibia circa 1984. The series also includes information about Mozambique gathered in preparation for the 1992 trip taken by Eileen Kawola and members of CD-CAAR to Mozambique as well as other countries in southern Africa, and information about educational programs conducted in the Albany schools after the trip. The file on Mozambique also includes information about financial support for Mozambique schools and churches. Included are copies of two CD-CAAR newsletters (October, 1991 and November 10, 1992), correspondence including letters of introduction, educational information about Mozambique, and the Albany Public School Teachers Association (APSTA) Bulletin dated October, 1992 containing a resolution in support of the Mozambique government.

This series contains the records of Moore's service as New York State Lieutenant Governor.

This series consists almost entirely of manuscript drafts, edits, notes and galleys for the award-winning Ironweed, published in 1983. The novel, also set in Albany during the Depression, continues the story of the Phelan family. It focuses on Billy Phelan's father Francis, an alcoholic wanderer who returns to the city. Among its many honors, Ironweed received the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction in 1983 and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1984.

This series contains material on various New York State Senate bills with which Berking was involved. Some of these files contain notes and drafts related to the bill in question, while others just contain a print copy of the proposed bill. These files are arranged according to the serial numbers assigned to each bill by the legislature.

China and the Far East: political and religious conditions in China, Korea, and Japan. Concentration is on the activities of the Nationalist Armies in 1926-1927.

This series includes reports from national conferences and conventions regarding women's healthcare, feedback from local workshops at schools and in the community, and marketing materials for public community events.

Ingle kept material documenting his interaction with the inmates he and his colleagues were trying to help. Some case files fit into one or two folders, but other high-profile cases (eg. Willie Darden, Timothy Baldwin) fill multiple folders and are divided into categories like correspondence and legal documents. Most files contain correspondence between inmates and Joe Ingle as well as letters to the inmates from family, friends, and sometimes members of the public. Copies of legal paperwork, especially affidavits, are often included. The case files of John Spenkelink, Willie Darden, and James Hill include photographs.
