Thomas Matthews, holding a publication titled "Proposed Resolutions and Constitutional Amendments," was UUP Treasurer from 1981 to 1988, UUP Vice President for Professionals from 1992 to 2000, was on the Executive Board from 1988 to 1992, and was UUP Chief Negotiator for the 1995 and 1999. Charles Hansen served on the UUP Executive Board from 1977 to 1980, and was Vice President for Professionals from 1980 to 1982.
