- Tanya Melich served on the United States Commission on Civil Rights New York State Advisory Board beginning in 1972. Included are folders concerning the Asian American hearings in July 1974. These hearings encompassed issues with employment, immigration, education, health care, images and stereotypes, and housing within the Asian American community. She also served on the subcommittee for sex discrimination. There are also materials relating to affirmative action, racism, and economic status.
