Using these materials

Access:
The archives are open to the public and anyone is welcome to visit and view the collections.
Restrictions:
Must consult archivist before viewing this material. This is restricted because Robert Granger never signed the release form for the UUP Oral History Project nor did he receive Professor Ivan Steen's 1995 certified letter, five years following the project, indicating that if the interviewee did not return the release form, provide a corrected copy of their transcript or provide other written instructions concerning their transcript, then the transcript would be considered approved and placed in the archives and available to researchers.
Collection restrictions:
Access to this record group is unrestricted with the exception of several folders which are marked. While Dr. Ivan Steen, the Project's Director, subsequently asked individuals interviewed for the oral history projects he conducted to sign a clearance form or an agreement, not all interview files donated to the archive contain forms. In addition, some individuals asked for their interviews to be permanently sealed or sealed until a later date. Therefore notes, transcripts and audio of a select number of interviews are restricted until clearance may be obtained from the interviewees or their heirs.
Collection terms of access:
The researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of copyright. Whenever possible, the M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives will provide information about copyright owners and other restrictions, but the legal determination ultimately rests with the researcher. Requests for permission to publish material from this collection should be discussed with the Head of Special Collections and Archives.
