Voter Service, 1945-2019

Scope and content:
This series contains materials related to Voter Service, the LWVAC's most active program. Voter Service activities undertaken in Albany County and the broader Capital Region by the LWVAC include: voter registration drives, participating in poll watching during elections, sponsoring candidate debates, surveying polling place accessibility, studying election law and procedures, campaigning for Permanent Personal Registration and the Motor Voter Law, and publishing pamphlets with information about candidates and about citizens' voting rights. Also included in this series are records documenting the activities of the Speakers Bureau (1961-1985, not inclusive), the LWVAC committee that spoke to other local groups and informed them about voting procedures and upcoming elections, and records documenting the Power the Vote Campaign of 1996, including correspondence, posters, meeting minutes, photographs, a collage, VHS footage, and a final report.

The archives are open to the public and anyone is welcome to visit and view the collections.
