A first draft of bylaws were presented for
discussion. It was the concurrence of the
committee that:
Purposes should be included in the bylaws, and
that

these should be kept broad and general
The Land Trust should be able, where it
served the objectives of the Trust, to own
buy or sell buildings, deal with the
problems of affordable housing because
a land trust's work directly effects
housing. The draft bylaws provided
sufficient latitude for this, as presented.

It was agreed that there should be an
intermediate organizational step between the
incorporated land trust and the current very
informal committee and this should include a
Board of Directors.
It was decided that, for the time being, the
right to
vote will be held by those who have attended two
of the last three meetings. This will maintain
some consistency of direction.
The next meeting is to be at 7:30 PM in the Town
Library.
