SCHOHARIE LAND TRUST BOARD 
OF DIRECTORS MINUTES OF 
16 JULY 1992 MEETING 
CALL TO ORDER: The regular meeting of the Schoharie Land 
Trust Board of Directors was called to order by Mary 
Jo O'Donnell at 7:43 PM at the Cooperative Extension 
Office in Cobleskill on 16 July 1992

ACQUISITION COMMITTEE - Regular meetings are on the 4th 
Thursday at 7:30 PM in the County Office Building, 
Room 370.  The O'Donnell easement will be written at 
the next committee meeting.  Dan Ross is working on a 
model easement for SLT. 
501C3 - Our attorney has pushed the IRS for some response, 
they have responded with a list of questions.  The IRS 
has requested $150 filing fee. 
A MOTION by Elliott Adams, was seconded, to authorize the 
Treasurer to pay the IRS $150 passed unanimously. 
MINUTES of the 18 June 1992 meeting were approved. The 
motion was made by John Mauhs, was seconded and passed 
unanimously. 
PAID STAFF - It was suggested that the Board should start 
to think now about a hiring a part time paid staff 
member in the future.  This is not an immediate need, 
but even now we could us someone; someone to follow up 
on the land leads, some one to get on the phone to get 
answers to periodic questions, etc..  Several 
organizations have hired their first staff member on 
challenge grants; the grant pays full salary the first 
year, 2/3 the second , 1/3 the third. the idea is that 
the staff member build membership and grants enough to 
make up their own salary. 
ACQUISITION  COMMITTEE - 
- A draft Responsibilities of Lead Persons was passed out 
any 
 
suggested changes should be returned to Dan Schuppel 
- Endowment Policy was proposed. A motion by Gean 
McCaffrey, was seconded, to accept this policy passed 
unanimously.  A copy is attached. 
- It was suggested that soon SLT should consider having a 
place 
to call home, a place to keep its files, a place for 
committees to meet, a place to meet members and 
donors. 
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE - renewal notices went out 3 July 92, 
most Board members have paid, and only one other 
member has renewed. Membership committee is getting in 
gear. 
TREASURERS REPORT was given. 
NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be on the third 
Thursday as usual, 20 August 1992 at 7:30 pm to 9:30 
pm at the Cooperative Extension Office in Cobleskill.
