Schoharie Land Trust Steering Committee
minutes of 17 January 1991 meeting
The regular meeting of the Schoharie Land Trust
Steering Committee was called to order by Bob Smith at
7:53_ PM at the Cooperative Extension Office in Cobleskill
on
17 January 1991.

STATE LAND ACQUISITION PLAN: Dan Kelly reported
on the organization and progress of the
Schoharie County board of the State Land
Acquisition Plan. Ken Hotopp will write a
news release about the Land Trust's position
on the State Land Acquisition Plan.
GIFT OF DEVELOPMENT RIGHTS: The Land Trust has
been offered a gift of the development
rights on a swamp if the State is willing to
buy them from the Land Trust. Robert Smith
has contacted Chris Braley who will find out
what the State will do.
CATSKILL CENTER: A joint account with the
Catskill Center has not been setup yet, but
is in process. The questioned accounting
charge has never been charge to anyone.
INCORPORATION: The incorporation process is
proceeding despite the normal bureaucratic
hold ups.
PAMPHLET: A draft pamphlet was reviewed and
revised. Bob Smith will work further on it.
DIRECTORS: It was agreed that action should be
taken to appoint more directors, that
directors should above other things be
active and committed. It was also agreed
that it would be in the interest of the
Trust to attract some farmers to be
directors.
N.Y. STATE LAND TRUST ALLIANCE: The Land Trust
Alliance would like to set up a state wide
land trust organization.
N. Y. C. DEPT. OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION: There
was a discussion about whether the Land
Trust should take a public position in the
disagreement between the N.Y.C. water needs
and the Schoharie County farmer's needs.
MINUTES of the 14 November 1990 and the 12
December 1990 meeting were approved.
NEXT MEETING: It was agreed that the next meeting
will be on 14 February 1991 at 7:30 pm at
the Cooperative Extension Office in
Cobleskill.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 9:50
pm.
