Biographical / Historical:

Born in West Virginia, Mary Kuykendall obtained her bachelor's degree in journalism and history from West Virginia University and her master's degree from the University at Albany. She joined GE after college and spent more than 30 years at the company in human resources and marketing. She is the author of more than 130 short stories and of the 2015 memoir "Rebuilding the GE House That Jack Welch Blew Down," about her career as a GE publicist and speechwriter.
