The collection consists of materials from Theodore Day's service in the New York State Assembly and New York State Senate in the 1960s and early 1970s. It includes correspondence, bills, reports, subject files, research, clippings, and press releases.
- Biographical / historical:

Theodore Day was born on April 20, 1917 and was from Interlaken, New York. He attended Yale University. Day was a member of the New York State Assembly from Seneca County from 1961 through 1965. He also was a member of the New York State Senate from 1966 to 1972. Day was appointed the Assistant New York State Commissioner of Agriculture and Markets in 1972.
Day died on December 22, 2003, at the Cayuga Medical center in Ithaca New York.

- Theodore Day initially donated his papers to Syracuse University in a series of eight accessions in 1970 . In 2006 , the papers were transferred to the M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives.
