- Scope and Content:
This collection consists of 79 scrapbooks containing flyers, programs, maps, newspaper clippings, photographs, and tickets. These document personal events in Lee N. Vedder's life, local events and history in Schenectady and Montgomery Counties, Vedder's domestic and international travels, and national and international news.
- Biographical / Historical:
A Democrat, Lee N. Vedder (1887-1963) was a candidate for the New York State Assembly from Montgomery County, New York in 1933. At the time of his death, Mr. Vedder was chairman of the White Mop Wringer Company, Division of Electrolux Corporation, director of the Montgomery County Trust Company, and was a trustee of the Amsterdam Memorial Hospital, Johnstown Hospital, the Arkell Foundation, and a recently appointed member of the Hartwick College Board of Trustees.
- Acquisition information:
- Lee Vedder originally donated his papers to Syracuse University in 1969 . In 2006 , Syracuse University transferred the papers to the M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections & Archives.
