"The first trial for homicide in this county (Delaware,
Pa.) is that of Hugh Pugh, a millwricht, and Lazarus
Thomas, a laborer, igidicfed for the murder of Jonathan
layes, a resident of Marple and a justice of the county
in the year 1715, They were convicted and hanged for the

crime on MAXXSJXXXX May 9, 1718,"
