County and lodged in the city jail for safe keeping. The
negro, who is suffering from three bullet wounds inflictec
by members of a posse which captured him at Buffalo Spring
was placed in bhe hospital ward., Coles was put aboard a
special car at Boydbon at 2:30 0 clock this morning and
was taken to Petersburg under heAvy military guard but the
trip from Petersburg into Richmond was made under the sole
