"In the Assembly, 26th January, 1771: Resolved that

Robte Howe, eSqre, be allowed the sum of eight pounds
for a negro man, condemned and executed for murder and
appraised, according to Law, /s/ Rde Caswell, Speakers;

In the upper House, 26th January, 1771, Concurred with,
/s/ Je Hasell, Ps" COLONIAL RECORDS OF NORT 1 CAROLINA,
Volume a 769 to 17713 page 382, The following, unde
date of 1/26/1771 also, page 175, concerns passage by
house and sent to upper house of resolution compensating
Howe for eighty (not eight) pounds, and on page 1,76, the
transmittal to Gov. Tryon of the resolutions and his
approval recorded,
