BRUMFIELD, James —

James Brumfield, alias Ernest Brumfield, aged 22, black
male. Accused of entering the home of Rev. M. De Le
Preslar, Wingate, on Auge 19) 1929. Miss Velma Presla,
18, was seized by someone, a sheet was thrown over her
and he tried to strangle her. Sha was carried from the
house and her cried awakened her brothers, who went to her
rescue, The attacker threw her to the ground and fled.
She said she saw him plainly in the moonlight and named
Brumfield as the man. The jury was out 30 mimtes and he
was found guilty of first degree burglary on Oct. 1, 1929,
Electrocuted May oe 1930,
