through a matrimonial agency, then robbing and murdering
them. His known victims were Mrs, Dorothy Pressler Lem
ke of Northboro, Mass., who he lured to Clarksburg on
Auge 31; 1930 and strangled and Mrs. Asta B, Eicher of
Park Ridge, Il1., who he took there in 1931 mand bludgeon-
ed to death with a hammer, He also killed Mrs, Eicher's
three children, Greta, 1), Harry, 12, and Annabell, 9, in
the same manner, Convicted, Powers was hanged at Mounds-=
ville on March 18, 1932,
