ALLEN, Herman Large card

Allen shot and killed Rev. W. H. Hodges in 1930 because

he suspected the minister of running around with his

first wife. After he was released from the penitentiary,
he mABKXSA returned to Selma, North Carolina, and married
again. He suspected his second wife of having an affair
with seaman William Raynor and she returned to her familys
home in Johnson Co. On the night of Jan. 17, 1912 , Allen
went to Raynor's home and shotgunned him to death. He
then went to his wife's home and khdled her brother,

Grady lee, and drug his wife from her bedromm to the

ba rn where he bludgeoned her before shooting her with
