CURNUTT, Elmer
Curnutt, a 2l-year-old white native of Catliff, Ky., was living in
Cincinnati, Ohio, as was his 3l-year-old uncle, Ova Curnutt. On the
morning of Dec. 2, 1947, Elmer Curnutt went to Ova's home and they
discussed the robbery of Thomas Wilson, owner of a cafe located at
1521 Race Street and reputedly a miser who hake kept over $20,000
on the premises. Ova provided Elmer with a blackjack and told him
exactly how to go about robbing Wilson and cautioned him to be certain
that he killed him as Wilson knew that Elmer was Ova's newphew and
might $XAK&’ identify him. That evening, Hlmer went to the cafe and
ordered a beer, When Wilson leaned over to get it, Elmer bludgeoned
him to death with the bhackjack, He stole around $130 and went to
HX Ovid's home where they split the money and Ovid then drove Elmer
out of town, Himer caught a ride to Kentucky and from there went to
Arkansas where he was Subsequently arrested, Returned to Cinninnati,
he made a full confession implicating his uncle as being the actual
