VANAUKEN, Wilhelmus LARGE CARD

"Wilhelmus Vanauken was executed (Newton, Ne Js) on Jan,
25, 1822, by Sheriff Vaucleal Moore, He was tried and
gkonvicted for mrdering his wife, leah, in Montague town=
ship, in the spring of 1821, His trial took place at the
November term of the court, before Justice William Russel
The trial was begun Nov. 30th, and sentenced was pronoun=
ced Dec. 3rd following. He was executed in a meadow on
the lower side of Newton,"
