Collins, a 19-year-old black resident of Anson Coss Ne Coy was a lab-
orer who had done some road work under the Supervision of A, Chalmers
Selberry, a member of a prominent white family, Collins took another
job and left his job with Sedberry without giving notice, Subsequently
he sent another man to collect $2037 in pay owed to him which Sedberry
refused to give the other man, They two meh on July 19, 192), while
