by the International Harvester Company, Had embezzled
funds which had to be replaced, Cuit job on Marrh 6,
1920, and began drinking constantly, acting peculiarly at
home and his mother wanted to call police because she
feared delirium tremens, On March 11 met Robert G, Carter
and they planned to pull a holdup for money. At 10:30
that night they went to a theater located on corner of
Crawford and Madison Streets and entered. Brislane, who
had gun, ordered the manager, William Mills, to hold up

hands and when Mills did not do so quickly enought, he
shot in side and killed. They then fled and went to a
cheap hotel where they rented a room for thenight and dis-
