Keller had been convicted of an assault against a woman
in 1947 and sefved a few months in the county jail. Pre-
viously he had served a term for burglary. In 1918, he
left an Allentown, Pa., bar with Mary Margaret Avalon and
went to a cemetery for sexual relations. They got into
an argument and Keller slashed and beat her to death,
Afterwards, he threwlit matches into her mouth and then
stuffed one of her stockings filled with rocks as far
down her throat as possible. He confessed and died in
the electric hhair on July 11,19h9.
