,charging with robbery in Mecklenburgh Co,, N. C. "... as
taken out of his cell and started down a corrider leading
to the death chamber, A Catholic priest sbopped him to
pray with him, While the Priest was praying, Fields
pulled a razor blade and began cutting his arms, He was
restrained, Adoctor was summoned and several stitches
taken, Then he was led to the chair and strapped in it
by five guards, He fought them and hit one in the face
with his fist so hard that sbitches were requbkedess sce
Last words: ' God bless everybody. I love everybody. I
want to meet everybody in Heaven, I want everybody to
forgive me for cutting myself, I did not mean to do it,
I want everyone to forgive me, I do not remember coming
