sue his appeal through the courts. He was granted a respite until
the North Carolina Supreme Sourt ruled on leets sentence which was
upheld and a new date of execution set for both men. lee's attorneys
were able to secure a stay of execution for him, but Donnell was elec-
‘trocuted on Aug, 26, 1932. He went to his death maintaining his
