his father, aged 70, with whom he quarreledy on June 18,
1880; crime was committed near home of his brother,
Alexander; victim died three days later; legends concern-
ing this case have been built up locally through the year
one that Allison's mother, dressed in his clothing, kille
the husband and father; another, that in the court-room
Allison, when found guikty, pointed a finger at each jurol
in turn predicting that none would die a natural death
