"Jonesboro, Gaey Mar. 31, 1905~ Will McCrary, the negro,
and Ewell Smith, the white boy, charged with having allured
little Perry Lee Conkle, a girl, were placed on trial here
yesterday. The former received a sentence of death and
will be Bkanged on April 28, 1905. After being out all
night the jury has reached a decision in the case of the
latter and on account of his extreme youth Smith will be
sent to the state farm at Milledgeville for a term of eight
