January 20, 1927. Had lost a leg in a railroad accident
several years previously and used artificial limbwhich was
taken from him by law. Had invited Miss Mildred Durkee of
whom he was jealous on automobile ride, While drive with

one hand and his leg, he used free hand to draw revolver

and kill her while car was in motion, She was from Hor-
nell, Newspaper lists age as M 32 while execution list
indicates it was 36. Was carridd to chair, supported by
a guard anda priest. Smiltd, Last words: "Goodbye, boys
murmered in clear but wavering voice, Bowers indicates an

appeal but I was unable to find,
