Details: Both of these offenders were negro railroad

track menders who on 12-31-88 stalked a
white merchant named Patrick Hamilton as he closed his
shop and headed home. (Victim was a retired CSA Captain
who served with N.B. Forrest). They bashed his head in
with a railroad spike hammer and robbed his person.
Special trains brought more than 8000 spectators into
