Mary Antoine, an Indian female approximately 20-years-old, had form-
ed a connection with a Stockbridge brave. Another squaw won his
affections and Mary determined to kill her. The tribe had camped
in their wigwams on a farm near Hamilton, Madison Co., N. Yes and
the other young woman was in the process of making a basket for a

30, 1814, she was hanged in Peterboro and Her father folhéwed her
to the gallows in Madison County nine years later for avenging him-
self on a man who gave testimony against her,
