PATSY

"eeePatsy, who cut the throat of a Negro boy named Prior
in Perry County (Ala.) in April, 1825, got the maximum
sentence. She was tried before a jury of twelve white
men, found guilty, assessed at $265, and sentenced to

be hanged. The sentence was carried out on June 10, be-
tween twelve and three o'clock, and $132.50 was paid to
her owner, Elijah Gorman,"
