"A Doutor Bennett, a famous THIMBLE MAGICIAN, has been
confined in the jail of Columbia, Tenn., on a charge of
highway robbery. An individual of the name of ROGERS,
with whom Bennet is supposed to have acted as a co-part-
mer, in the nefarious act imputed to him, has already
undergone trial, received sentence of death, and is now
in Nashville awaiting execution,'' COURIER, Charleston,
