(Couhhy, NC) that DAVE, a negro boy, whowas convicted in
the Superior Court of that county of committing a rape
upon a white girl, and sentenced to be hanged, but escape
from jail before the time of his execution arrived, has
been caught and safely lodged in jail there to await the
execution of the law. He was taken at Mecklenburg county,
where he had been secreted in a cave. = Carolina Watchman"
