"Clarksdale, Misse, Octe 11, 1915<A negro and a Chinese
restaurant keeper, arrested last night in connection with
the murder of A, H, Cage, cashier of the Planters Bak
were taken from the jail here early today by a posse of
citizens. After giving him a severe beating, the mob
releaseed the Chinaman, but no trace of the negro has bee
found, Cage was shot and killed in a struggle with a
