"A negro named Primus belonging to Mr. Hutches was
recently tried in Iberville before Judge Dutton and gs
freeholders on a charge of being a leader of a gang of
runaways infesting the wooda in the rear of Bayoux
Goula and having fired on two white inhabitants and
threstenéing the lvies of two others, He was found
gullty and sentenced to be hanged and afterward beheaded,
On the 23rd ultimo the sentence was carried into execu-
